Blog post #5: There are so many ways to know and appreciate youth. You go to your internship site at least once a week and most you see and interact with young people there all the time! Write two short paragraphs from different perspectives about who your organization serves. One should provide some demographic data (race, age, gender, neighborhood, class, language); the others could talk about the youth in terms of their interests, passions, skills, conflicts, etc.
YMCA, serves varieties of people around the world, but my program on branch avenue, serve the same kind of kids and youth, blacks, whites, chines, Asian, and Mexican. etc. Their roles vary, some are interested in playing basketball, football, becoming coaches, teachers, and one of the kids talked about becoming a president one day. The kids also talking about working as a team, going on a field trip, and doing activities that will keep them outdoor and socializing with people in the community. Another kids talked about becoming fire fighters to help save people in their community. Another said, she wants to become a doctor to treats her grandma at home, and help her recover from cancer. I felt little excited after hearing all those kids passion, activities, and things they will love to see their community improving on.
Blog post #6: Looking at the PASA TEAM page, focus on one of the staff positions and describe it in your own words (you may have to look up the “programs” or “support” page to better understand their work). What seems fun about this job? Write one question that you have about this position.
PASA Team is an organizational with more athletic activities, like swimming, and basketball etc. I find it fun, because their job is keeping youth, and adults fits and preparing them for Olympians for their games.
Question: how do PASA decide who becomes the Olympians for the year, when everybody physically fit after so many years of practice?
